The Farm
Welcome to Victory Farm Burundi. Victory Farm is located in Cibitoke Burundi in Africa near the Rwanda and Congo border. This is a very violent and dangerous area of the world. Burundi is noted as one of the worlds poorest countries. Victory Farm started as an idea to bring jobs and Biblical teaching to an area that is impoverished and is nearly 85% illiterate. The Farm consists of 10 acres. Over the years we have constructed barns and storage facilities to run the daily operations. The farm raises pigs and grows large crops of corn and soybean along with other vegetable crops.
The farm employs up to 75 workers in the busy season with 12 full-time employees. Two security guards and their families live on site to protect from vandalism and theft. Victory Farm employs disadvantaged individuals such as women and elderly who would normally be abused in other local work environments. Many of the crops are given away to the local poor and elderly, so they can have food for their family. All proceeds from any animal or crop sale are invested back into the growth of the farm to help more local people.
The farm operates as a US, non-profit 501(c)(3) where contributions are tax deductible. 100% of all donations go to the work of the farm. Some of our recent projects include, construction of a 1,500 square foot learning center, building a 10,000 gallon cistern to collect rainwater, bringing in municipal water lines for local access to clean water, and installing power lines more than ½ mile to provide electricity to the community. The farm currently has solar panels and lights for nighttime safety.
